LGB® MBC is a highly effective UVB absorber with a specific extinction (E 1% / 1cm) of min. 930 at around 299nm in Methanol and has additional absorption in the short-wave UVA spectrum. A small dosage would improve SPF when used with other UV filters. Effective photostabilizer of LGB® ABZ.

(1)LGB® MBC is a highly UVB absorber. It is an oil soluble white crystalline powder that is compatible with most commonly used cosmetic ingredients. LGB® MBC can be used in addition with other UV-B filters to boost SPF values.

(2)LGB® MBC is a UVB absorber with a specific extinction (E 1% / 1cm) of min. 930 at around 299nm in Methanol and has additional absorption in the short-wave UVA spectrum.

(3)LGB® MBC has a faint odor which has no effect on the finished product.

(4)LGB® MBC is ideal for the formulation of water-resistant sunscreen products and can improve the photostability of LGB® ABZ.

(5)Adequate solubility in the formulation must be ensured in order to avoid recrystallization of the LGB® MBC. The UV filters LGB® OMC, OCR, OS, HMS and certain emollients are excellent solvents.
